It's unfair, discriminatory: Momen on UK's Covid-19 red-listing of Bangladesh

Dr AK Abdul Momen, Bangladesh's Foreign Minister, reiterated Bangladesh's request to have it removed from countries on red lists with travel restrictions. He called the UK's decision unfairly discriminatory and discriminatory.

He said, "It's unfair" and "It's discrimination", while speaking to journalists today at his office.

The foreign minister referred to the sufferings that more than 7,000 British-Bangladeshis are currently experiencing in Bangladesh and said that the UK government was doing a disservice to its citizens.

He stated that while the UK government claimed that Bangladesh has a low vaccination rate, Bangladesh claims the UK allows people to visit the country from countries with lower vaccination rates.

Dr Momen responded to a question and said that Bangladesh has 24 crore vaccinations in stock, and that over 2.22 million people have been vaccinated.
